Collarless animals

Unfortunately there seems to be a very strange and I believe irresponsible phenomenon in Grahamstown, in which owners allow their dogs to roam around the streets. These are not ‘stray’ dogs-they have homes and food and owners. They just like to roam-and apparently this is normal and accepted. Firstly-yes Grahamstown is small and the traffic is not that bad-but there are still cars, still traffic, still the chance that you’re pet could be knocked over. Stop your animal from escaping the house! Make sure you close the gate behind and wait until it is closed before you leave. Don’t be irresponsible. If your animal is still getting out-find the hole or gap in the fence where it is sneaking through. Please.

And always shave a collar on you animal with a name tag with preferably its name & your contact details, or the SPCA’s details.

Please be responsible, don’t let you animals out and make them wear collars with contact details.

Here are a few of the animals who constantly visit my house.
